Hand forged replica of a Scandinavian Viking sword from the 9th century. Handmade using the same techniques that the Vikings used 1000 years ago. Forged in high quality steel, hardened with oil and annealed in the traditional way over a charcoal ace. In addition, the blade is marked with the Nordlys™ "smith's mark" so you can be sure that you have a genuine sword from our own forge.
The handle is wrapped in brown leather, it goes well with the brown braided leather straps that adorn the black leather scabbard. The period-typical five-part button together with the patterned bronze dipping shoe means that you immediately recognize the sword as a genuine Viking sword.
Even the ski is handmade as a replica with a wooden interior and leather stretched on the outside. Viking swords were traditionally worn with two belts, one over the opposite shoulder and one around the waist. The two belts relieved and distributed the weight of the sword and ran through a brace on the scabbard called the belt bridge, which on this scabbard, as on most originals, is made of wood.
