This ring brooch (fibula) is cold-forged in steel and holds its shape very well. It is suitable for fastening to a shirt collar or a small bag. It is shaped like a horseshoe with a pin across it. The function is somewhat similar to a safety pin from the Viking Age, with an appealing design.

The fibula is a typical hallmark of the Viking Age. The discovery of a fibula in Canada in 1960 convinced archaeologists that they had found a Viking settlement.

The fibula is 2.5 mm thick and 45 mm wide.

Care

Brass oxidizes over time and becomes darker in color. You can easily polish the jewelry with brass or silver polish. This can be bought in most grocery stores.
