Viking sax with scabbard, British Isles. Semi sharp
This hand forged Viking sax, also called seax, has a specially fitted handmade leather scabbard. The model is based on several finds from the british islands and has a typical blade shape and scabbard for the region and time. The scabbard has two belt loops and is intended to hang horizontally on the back or front of the body, for a faster draw. The blade is traditionally hand forged, hardened with oil and then tempered to become both flexible and strong.
The handle is made from polished Ash wood with details and end ring hand fitted in brass.
The blade is also marked with our Nordlys™ “forgers mark” so that you can be sure that it is an original from our forge. It comes in a semi sharp tempered version and can be sharpened.
Since the blade is not blunt, the knife is intended for collectors and decorative or ceremonial use. We do not recommend using this model in any type of fighting.
