This, our smallest comb, is suitable for, among other things, the beard, quick hair fixes or for dolls. Easy to carry with you and a classic design. Made from cow horn, which is the best material for combs. The horn is gentler on the hair than modern materials, and it doesn't create any static electricity when combing. So you avoid an unintentionally wild hairstyle. The colour of the horn can vary from light white to brown and black.

Measurements & Materials

Cow horn is a fantastic material that until about 100 years ago
was widely used for many things.
When plastic arrived, it replaced horn in many everyday items that had
traditionally been made by hand.
People used to make spoons,
combs, eyeglass frames and shoe horns out of horn, among other things.
Our horn products are made by hand with great craftsmanship in a small village in northeastern India. The horns are cleaned, sorted, boiled and ground before they are shaped into beautiful craft.
Horn is very strong and fully
compostable, a sustainable material, both for you and the environment. All horns used in Nordlys' production are a by-product of the meat industry and come from domesticated cattle.

Care

Goods in horn are washed by hand with water and detergent. They should not be washed in a dishwasher and cannot be microwaved either. Horn is a natural material that has many properties in common with wood. It can therefore dry out over time. Feel free to treat with wood oil if necessary or once or twice a year for preventive purposes. For glass and other items that will come into contact with food, we recommend that you use a wood oil that is intended for kitchen utensils or the like.
