Today, the beads are made in northern India, in a small village not far from the shores of the Ganges. There, the knowledge of making glasss beads is something they are very proud of, and the bead masters dream that their secrets can be passed on to the next generation. And as awareness grows among people and customers around the world who demand jewelry in durable and handmade designs, perhaps it is no longer just a dream.</p>
