Our fine and dainty teaspoon. Besides the obvious coffee cup and the traditional uses for egg, caviar and jam, we recommend our horn spoon as a great alternative for feeding small children. Horn is a material that is not only beautiful, but also naturally durable and completely free from chemicals.

Cow horn is a fantastic material that until about 100 years ago
was widely used for many things.
People used to make spoons,
combs, eyeglass frames and shoe horns out of horn, among other things.
Our horn products are made by hand with great craftsmanship in a small village in northeastern India. The horns are cleaned, sorted, boiled and ground before they are shaped into beautiful craft.
Horn is very strong and fully
compostable, a sustainable material, both for you and the environment. All horns used in Nordlys' production are a by-product of the meat industry and come from domesticated cattle.
Every horn has a unique color. That is why each item we make also becomes unique, and differences in colors are to be expected.

Care

Horn is a very durable and durable material. If you want to clean or wash your hornware, you can do it easily with warm water and washing-up liquid. If you clean with degreasing agents such as washing-up liquid often and to extend the already long life of the horn, you can also oil the horn with a vegetable oil such as olive oil. And wipe off afterwards with a cloth.
Horn is not dishwasher or microwave safe. As these risk splitting the horn in its different layers.
