Hand-carved Gotland pendant with genuine rock crystal. Available in two variants: gold-coloured brass and silver-coloured silver-plated finish. A beloved item has many names. In its original form, this jewellery is over 1,000 years old. It is called a Gotland pendant, Freja ball, Gotland ball or Fröjel ball after one of the find locations, Fröjel on Gotland.
Leather cord or chain not included. Sold separately.
Please note that we use genuine rock crystal in our pendants. This means that natural impurities, prisms, small internal cracks and the like are to be expected. The stone is of high quality with good opacity, but differs markedly from glass.
Our Fröjel balls are just as popular now as they were 1,000 years ago. The inspiration for this jewellery is drawn from a number of different originals from Viking-age Gotland. The original edition is in silver with rock crystal and has been found in several sizes. Our version is hand-crafted in brass and is also available in a silver-plated edition. All the stones are genuine semi-precious stones. The jewellery is, of course, nickel-free.
