Hand-forged replica of a Scandinavian Viking sword from the 11th century. Handmade using the same techniques that the Vikings used 1000 years ago. Forged from high-quality steel, oil-tempered, and traditionally annealed over a charcoal forge. Furthermore, the blade is marked with the Nordlys™ "smith's mark" so you can be sure you have an authentic sword from our own forge.
The handle is wrapped in brown leather, which pairs well with the brown braided leather cords that adorn the black leather scabbard. The period-appropriate five-lobed pommel, together with the patterned bronze chape, instantly identifies the sword as a genuine Viking sword.
The scabbard is also handmade as a replica with a wooden interior and leather stretched over the exterior. Viking-age swords were traditionally carried with two belts, one over the opposite shoulder and one around the waist. The two belts relieved and distributed the weight of the sword and ran through a loop on the scabbard called a belt bridge, which on this scabbard, just like on most originals, is made of wood.
