Viking Age carnelian beads were sourced from the Baltic countries, processed, and brought to Scandinavia. One of the hardest parts of the process was and is drilling the hole. If there is so much as a tiny crack in the stone, it will break during drilling.

This is why the holes in the stone beads are unfortunately quite small. We recommend using a thin wire, fishing line, or sinew thread.

Measurements & Materials

The beads vary between 6 mm and 9 mm in diameter.

Care

Natural stone is a durable material. Avoid impacts and contact with strong chemicals that may discolor the stone.
