A shoehorn made of cow horn is probably the most classic one can imagine. The shoehorn is 100% biodegradable and should be placed in the compost for waste sorting. Very environmentally friendly material with minimal environmental impact. 5-year warranty! Approximately 25 cm long.

The shape of our modern shoehorns is based on the natural form one gets when cutting a shoehorn from a cow horn. Additionally, the flexibility of the horn provides a shoehorn that lasts significantly better than its plastic counterpart. Clearly a must-have for all Vikings, then as now. Nothing lets you slide into your shoe easier than the horn's glossy polished surface.  

 

Measurements & Materials

Cow horn is a fantastic material that until about 100 years ago
användes flitigt till många saker. When plastic came along, it replaced horn in many everyday items that were traditionally handcrafted.
Förr gjorde man bl.a. skedar, kammar, glassögonsbågar och scow horn i just horn.
Our horn products are made in Uttar Pradesh, India, where the cow is considered sacred and no part may go to waste during slaughter. The horns are cleaned, sorted, boiled, and polished before being shaped.
Horn is very strong and fully compostable — a sustainable material for both you and the environment.

Care

Goods in horn are washed by hand with water and detergent. They should not be washed in a dishwasher and cannot be microwaved either. Horn is a natural material that has many properties in common with wood. It can therefore dry out over time. Feel free to treat with wood oil if necessary or once or twice a year for preventive purposes. For glass and other items that will come into contact with food, we recommend that you use a wood oil that is intended for kitchen utensils or the like.
