The King's Hird Viking Sword

This hand-forged replica of a 11th century Viking sword found in Sweden, is handmade in high quality steel, hardened in oil and tempered in the traditional way over a coal furnace. With a handle wrapped in brown leather, round button and a wide, thin hilt, this sword gets a classic look that we recognise from the late Viking Age and early Middle Ages. The blade is marked with Nordlys' "blacksmith mark", which ensures the quality and proves that you have a real sword from our forge. .
The scabbard has a wooden lining, is covered in brown leather and decorated with black ribbons and inserts. The belt attachment is made of wood and the scabbard shoe of bronze with Viking-age decorations. Viking swords were usually worn with two belts, one over the opposite shoulder and one around the waist, the belts held the sword in a buckle on the scabbbard called a belt bridge.
