Nordlys Viking proudly presents the world's first coffee mug made from horn, guaranteed to withstand any hot drink. It can of course also be used for other drinks, both hot and cold. So it works just as well for tea, beer, water or soda.

The mug isn't just striking to look at, it's also excellent at keeping your drink at temperature, whether hot or cold. Horn's unique properties aren't only durable, they also have an insulating effect.

The mug holds approx. 3.5 dl, which should be plenty to get you going in the morning. And it's guaranteed to turn heads during the coffee break at work.

Measurements & Materials

Cow horn is a fantastic material that until about 100 years ago
was used frequently for many things.
When plastic arrived, it replaced horn in many utility items, such as those used by man.

Our horn products are handcrafted with great craftsmanship in a small village in northeastern India. The horns are cleaned, sorted, boiled, and polished before being shaped into beautiful crafts.

"compostable, a sustainable material, both for you and the environment. All horns used in Nordlys production are a by-product of the meat industry and come from livestock."

Care

Horn items should be hand washed with water and dish soap. They should not be washed in a dishwasher and do not tolerate microwaves. Horn is a natural material that shares many properties with wood. It can therefore dry out over time. Treat with wood oil as needed or once or twice a year as a preventive measure. For items that will come in contact with food, we recommend using a wood oil intended for kitchen utensils or similar.
