Felted mottled dark pink horse in wool. All our felted animals are free from plastic materials and dyed with water-based non-toxic colour. The felting is done entirely without harmful chemicals. Only warm water and soap are added. Even the stuffing is 100% wool.

The model is inspired by finds of felted horses from the Viking Age.

Nordlys takes responsibility all the way. Our dolls are felted in partnership with ethical companies and social projects in Nepal. Through this craftsmanship we support the financial independence of women from Nepal's most vulnerable groups.

Not suitable for children under 3 years, as parts may come loose and end up in the mouth.

All our felting is done by hand according to ancient traditions among the snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas.
Felting is probably one of our crafts that, even in its modern form, only requires wool, warm water, regular soap, and a little love.
Among the mountain peaks on the outskirts of Kathmandu stands a house full of women from some of Nepal's most vulnerable groups. Women among Nepal's poor are particularly vulnerable and often struggle to find jobs that also allow them to fulfill what is considered a woman's duties.
But in this house, there are plenty of happy faces, and felting and sewing is done by skilled hands.
Much of the sewing and decorations is also done at home by women who cannot go to work. This is internationally known as "Cottage craft". It gives the women the freedom to work when time allows, providing a much-needed financial contribution to the family. The work gives these women greater influence and a higher standing in society.
The products we make with them spread love, joy, and warmth far beyond Nepal's borders.
Wool is a fantastic material that today is once again the perfect choice for those who want to stay warm and eco-friendly.
