Nordlys Viking proudly presents the world's first drinking mug made of horn, which is guaranteed to withstand all hot beverages. It can of course also be used for other drinks, both hot and cold. So it is just as suitable for tea, beer, water, or soda.

The mug is not only cool, but it is also very good at maintaining the temperature of your drink, whether hot or cold. The unique properties of the horn are not only durable but also hofe an insulating effect.

The mug holds about 2.5 dl, which should be enough to get you going in the morning. And it is guaranteed to toract toention during the coffee break at work.

Measurements & Materials

Cow horn is a fantastic material that until about 100 years ago
was widely used for many things.
When plastic arrived, it replaced horns in many utility objects, such as man
traditionally made by hand.
In the past, they did e.g. spoons,
combs, spectacle frames and shoehorns in just horn.
Our horn products are handcrafted with great craftsmanship in a small village in Northeast India. The horns are cleaned, sorted, boiled and ground before they are shaped into beautiful handicrafts.
Horn is very strong and complete
compostable, a sustainable material, both for you and the environment. All horns used in Nordly's production are a residual product from the meat industry and come from domestic animals.

Care

Goods in horn are washed by hand with water and detergent if necessary. They should not be washed in a dishwasher and cannot be microwaved either. Horn is a natural material that has many properties in common with wood. It can therefore dry out over time. Feel free to treat with wood oil if necessary or once or twice a year for preventive purposes. For glass and other items that will come into contact with food, we recommend that you use a wood oil that is intended for kitchen utensils or the like. Heavy use of detergent dries out the horn faster. Then it may need to be oiled more often.

Details

The cup is handmade in natural cow horn and has a polished exterior. The inside is both polished and lacquered. The bottom of the mug has double layers of resin and wood so it can withstand the stresses that different temperatures bring.
As horn is a natural product, all mugs are unique in color and shape. If you have any color preferences, write them in the comments field on your order. And remember, horns should always be washed by hand.
